because of the trafic jam. because of the time it takes me to reach my office. because of the car clogging the road. because of the buses making unauthorised stop. because of the stupid placed u-turns. because of the illegal u-turns.

can this be fix?

I understand people put up all those road arks, billboards and banners to celebrate the birth of His Majesty, Brunei Darussalam. But … is it really neccessary ?How much does it cost to build one of those? And to have it on every road and every building in Brunei, i’d believe it could reach hundreds of thousands? What does those arks, billboards and banners do ? They just sit there and do nothing productive.

if I had those kind of money, I would do these

1. give charity to orphans of Brunei Darussalam
2. give charity to the poor of Brunei Darussalam
3. give charity to the old veterans of Brunei Darussalam
4. give charity to the disabled of Brunei Darussalams

But i guess, those people who make billboards dont think like me. I remembered last year, when night rain and wind blew that huge object in the center of Qlap roundabout to the ground. That was … something :)

Happy 62 Birthday Your Majesty. Long live His Highness.

Increase fuel price and terminate fuel subsidy.

Theres no point putting a HUGE sign over every freaking petrol station that says Goverment Subsidy B$202 Million. They’re trying to convey a message to us Bruneians that we have to be more economical and efficient with the petrol.

But why ?

Maybe the Government want to make their citizen feel a bit guilty with the subsidy? heh. or maybe they think B$202 million is alot of money and that be wasted … er spend on something better.

One thing for sure though, with the price hike, BSP is making more and more money :p so I think they wont be complaining. And we’re seeing more and more 350Z on the road … and soon, the Hummer :p and these monsters eat petrol like theres no tomorrow.

The Government can, if they want, just terminate the subsidy. But they cant, because “they”, the Government, will suffer as well :p. Cause if subsidy is terminate, they have to spend more money on their own petrol, for higher government officials, their riding huge huge cars that consume huge huge gallons of petrols. and at the end of the month, it’ll be the guys on bicycle rocking the brunei road :p

Increase import tax on cars, increase car price.

why not ? stops people from buying cars un-neccessarily. :p traffic is so so terrible in Brunei. What usually takes 15 minutes, would take me 1 hour during rush hour. we need to get rid of the rush hour! did you know you’re wasting petrol as much as travelling when you’re idling on the road? you do~

on average, theres 10 cars for every Bruneian family … who needs that much car :p … okay fair enough, my family have about 10 cars as well, call me a hypocrite, but what can I say, car is cheap here in Brunei. and my dad is a car freak :p how can i stop him ?

it’s unneccessary really.
Terminate rice subsidy

Bruneians are FAT. we eat too much. but we dont do enough. Nuff said.

Other things to put into consideration

  1. improve road system.
  2. introduce isolated lane for buses.
  3. introduce lane for bikers.

I hate it when that stupid purple bus stops on the road to pick/drop their passengers … seriously, it is dangerous and it is annoying. whenever these bus make their sudden stop, it causes traffic jam. it’s bad bad bad. and sometimes, when you’re tailing the bus at 80, all of the sudden, they hit their signal. you just dont expect that because you dont see on the side of the walk, someone is waving at the bus driver.

Bikers is going to be the next big thing. Cheaper price. Cheaper price consumtion. Better mobility and easy parking. but the problem lies on the road itself. bikers put their life at risks when they’re on the road. they are much smaller in size, hence harder to see on the rear mirror, and they are much faster, hence harder to predict where they are about to go. you may see a biker coming in fast from your rear view mirror. one second later, the dude dissapear! driving in a car, you have multiple blind spots. now is he at the back left side, or the back right side???

troubling isnt it ?

….. it’s worrying … cause my dad … is planning to get one for himself :p

Dear Brunei, how I love my country :)

economic diversification

how about budget re-allocation … say for instance … cut down the Minister’s allowance by 10% ? hehe. why not :p

Brunei is trying so hard to be on par with their neighbouring countries. lift the fuel subsidy. be equal with other nations. the WHOLE world is raising the price of FUEL. in BRUNEI, we raise the SUBSIDY ;p funny.

1. more money can be used in the country growth.
2. bruneians will learn to appreciate their fuel
3. no fuel theft :p

we should hire some financial expert from singapore. let him do the budgeting for Brunei Darussalam huh ? you cant argue there. look how successful singapore is to compare with Brunei.  too bad not alot of people is seeing that.

you know, in other countries, if you want more money, they work harder and and maybe get a second job. in brunei, we just request for extra allowance, or a pay raise … or, the much more preferred action …. take out loan heh heh.

economic diversification is suppose to help the country grow, economically. mainly focused with the SMEs …. but we’ll get there later. i wanna talk about the smoking ban.

im cool with the smoking ban … hehe cause i dont smoke. but i feel bad for those cafes and restaurants who feels the jab from this order.

last time, it was the closing hour. now it’s the smoking ban. i dont get it. what exactly is the government trying to do ? they really wanna put business … out of their business. what about the talk where government wants to help small companies grow. heh heh.

I love Brunei. country with drama :p

Citizenship?

From my point of view, 20 years to apply for citizenship, is a bit too harsh. What have the country got to lose. Majority of the labour work in brunei is done by foreigners anyway. They help the country grow. and yet, 20 years it takes them to be granted citezenship, and not forgetting the conditions they have to met before they can apply for it.

it only takes 10 years in the UK.

Brunei is the *only* country in the world that gives “stateless” status.

we are so unique.

UBD SEBAGAI BUKTI SALAH SATU MERCU KEJAYAAN NBD

Assalammualaikum/ Salam sejahtera,

Cakap atu biar bermaruah sedikit, cakap malam dengar-dengar cakap siang pandang-pandang. Siapa Cancellor dan Pro Cancellor UBD??? Jangan pandang rendah UBD. Saya yakin visi “UBD is the World Class University” akan dapat dicapai dalam sedikit masa terdekat ini.

Adangtah kan menghina UBD, baik tah mohon ampun.
